Mrs. Gloria George - Representing Aboriginal

Gloria George is a Wet'suwet'en hereditary chief, UNBC Masters student, and Instructor of two courses, GLearning Strategies and Research Writing at UNBC Northern Advancement Program and has a law degree. She is the first Coordinator to organize Indigenous participation for the World Council of Churches in the 6th General Assembly in Vancouver in 1983, At senior levels, she worked on indigenous issues within the federal and provincial governments, international, national, provincial, territorial, and local non-governmental agencies; and Aboriginal groups. She served on the Canadian and BC Human Rights Commissions, and was a Canadian delegate at the United Nations international habitat and human rights gatherings. Her thesis is on the survival of indigenous spirituality while maintaining her identity throughout the decolonization process.

Mr. John DeGrace - Representing Buddhism

John DeGrace has been practicing vipassana meditation (in the Theravadatradition of Buddhism) for nineteen years under the instruction of senior teachers at the Insight Meditation Society and the Barre Centre for Buddhist Studies in Massachusetts, USA. During this time he has participated in many medi tat ion ret reats and, increasingly, has been called upon to lead retreats and to teach. He is a Director of the Buddhist Society of Northern BC in Prince George

Pastor Jim Witteveen - Representing Christianity

Jim Witteveen is a missionary pastor of the Canadian Reformed Churches. Pastor Witteveen was born and raised in Abbotsford, B.C., he received his Master of Divinity degree from the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches in 2007, and he was ordained to the ministry in that year. He, his wife Nallely, and their three children have been living in Prince George since March of 2008.

Dr. Parnesh Kumar - Representing Hinduism

Dr. Pranesh Kumar comes from a Hindu family living in the northern Indian state – Uttar Pradesh. He has keen interests in literature, religion, culture, science and its global impact, in particular on the human-society. He is fascinated by the diversities which he experienced during his vast travels, interactions with people and observing their social, cultural and religious events. Mr. Kumar values life in any form and believes in a very ancient, preached and practiced Sanskrit saying ”Vasudhaeva Kutumbukam” meaning the “Entire world is one family.”

Dr. Ijaz A. Rauf - Representing Islam

Dr. Ijaz Rauf is an innovator, experienced consultant, educator, a seasoned program manager and a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from Cambridge University England and has more than 25 years of training, mentoring and coaching experience. He is winner of two gold medals for academic achievements and author of 32 publications.Ijaz's expertise is in the areas of nano-technology, thin films and nano-materials especially for their applications in solar cells and nano-biotechnologies based sensors and detectors. With a strong scientific background he is always working to bring science and religion together.

Giani Harminder Singh Retired as a lecturer in punjabi in Jalandhar India was born and raised in India and is a prominent member of the Sikh community. Now Head Granthi in Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Temple Prince George. Has interests in religious music, sings shabads & plays tabla and is very fond of interfaith dialogues. He has recently moved to Prince George, BC.,Canada
