The long thirst was quenched and the deep void was
filled with joy, excitement and rejuvenation when Hadhrat
Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen his hands) put
his steps on the land of Canada on Monday, June 21st. A
motorcade escorted him from the Toronto Pearson Airport
to the Peace Village, which is located North of the Baitul
Islam Mosque, in the city of Vaughan. The motorcade stopped
at Ahmadiyya Avenue, the small street that divides the
Mosque and the Village.
As soon as Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah
strengthen his hands) emerged from his car, thousands and thousands of members
of the Jamaat, who had been waiting patiently for more
than three hours, filled the already excited atmosphere
with uplifting Jama’at slogans.
After showered with flowers from children, Hadhrat
Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen his hands)
slowly moved through the long rows of welcoming members
standing on both sides of the Ahmadiyya Avenue.

Along the entire route were thousands of people,
young and old, who were eager to catch a glimpse of the
Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen his
hands). It was almost as if emotions had poured out on
the street. Everyone was ecstatic.
As soon as Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah
strengthen his hands) entered into the Mosque gate, Lajna,
standing behind the string fence of fluttering paper flags,
greeted Huzur and Begum sahiba with loud slogans. Inspiring
poems sung by Nasirat and Lajna added to the fervor of
this momentous occasion.
The incredible spirit of Jama’at combined with the
ecstasy of witnessing a historical moment, created an
atmosphere that was electric.
After passing Lajna, Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V
(May Allah strengthen his hands) inspected the guard of
honour of York regional police in front of the Baitul
Islam mosque and then walked up to the stage where the
Mayor of Vaughan welcomed him.
In the background, the Ahmadiyya and Canadian flags
fluttered in the light breeze that graced Baitul Islam,
which was decorated with colorful banners.
After making a small speech, the Mayor of Vaughan
presented Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen
his hands) with the key of the city and declared Hadhrat
Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen his hands) the
Honourary citizen of Vaughan.
Finally, Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah
strengthen his hands) led Zuh’r and Asa’r prayers. The
historical visit of the Khalifatul Masih V had started.
