“And say my Lord forgive and have mercy and thou art the best of those who show mercy”
|
In the name of Allah the gracious and the merciful, if you go into the depth of this prayer you will
realize the significance. First he created us and gave us everything in the
world and taught us what was right and wrong and then left everything to our
discretion to make our own judgments.
Allah is so gracious, he loves us more
than our parents do he provides for us even before us asking, because he can
see into our hearts. But sometimes he does not grant our wish because he is the
all knowing and he knows that it might not be beneficial for us. As humans we
cannot be perfect and therefore we do make mistakes.
When we make mistakes most
of the time people may not forgive us because they do have it in them to
forgive. But then again god is the all knowing he is the one who created us and
he knew that we will make mistakes. So in the Quran he taught us how to ask for
his mercy and forgiveness.
It is his benevolence that he wants us and lets us
ask for his mercy and forgiveness otherwise we would all end up in the fires of
hell. We should take advantage of this and ask for his mercy and forgiveness
all the time.

*the incidents of Hazarat Adam and Hazarat Yunus can
be related to this, as to how Allah had forgiven them.

“It’s a sin to abandon prayer”
|
There is a God who listens to our prayers, and takes care of us, provides our needs.
Who had created the heavens and the earth, who has control over everything, who gave
us everything from food and clothing to. How do we know that our parents love us?
We know because they care for us and provide us with our needs and listen to us.
But if sometimes we ignore our parents or act inappropriately and do not listen to
them they will of course get upset and then maybe will deprive us of our privileges
to discipline us. In the same way we need to pray to god, and keep asking for his
blessings and forgiveness.
It is stated in the Holy Quran “So worships him alone and
steadfast in his service”. We should never abandon prayers because if we do he will
abandon us just imagine what we will be left with e.g. If you buy a pet there are several
responsibilities that come with it you have to feed it, clean it, give it toys and take
it out for walks and in return your pet will be more happy with you and will be more
loyal and friendlier to you but if you ignore it and don’t treat it nicely it will not
like you and maybe it will eventually die.
We cannot survive with out Allah, if he is
not pleased with us and will not be merciful toward us then we are not even able to blink
an eye. When we pray to Allah we must have a firm belief that there is a God who is there
all time and is everywhere and that he is the only one who can listen to our prayers and then grant them.
|
Questions:
- What time can we pray and at what time we cant?
- Can we only pray in the mosque?
- Can we only pray during Salat?
- Can we only pray for ourselves?
- Can we ask others to pray for us
- If our prayer is not accepted right away should stop praying or should we keep praying until we get what we want?
