Sunday School
A unique project to teach your kids about Islam. Please read the information below or visit Ahmadiyya.ca.
Note:

Level: 4 (advanced knowledge)
Age Group: 13 - 15 years (this is not a rigid standard)
Prerequisite: Level 3 (average knowledge)
The basics of Islam:
  • Five pillars of Islam and the six articles of faith.
  • Fluency in reading the Holy Quran.
  • Translation of Surah Al-Fatihah, beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah and the last 15 chapters of the Holy Quran.
  • Salat
  • Some background readings on the life of the Holy Prophet (saw) and the life of the Promised Messiah (as).
  • Ahadith and prayers from the Holy Quran as well as prayers of the Holy Prophet (saw).

The advanced level knowledge class is designed to continue to provide fundamental as well as in-depth background in Islam that will enable students to understand and appreciate this wonderful religion. This course will be dealing with the Holy Quran, Salat, Ahadith, Prayers and general religious knowledge.

The essay component in the Level 4 will enhance the student’s logical, analytical ability as well as raise awareness to key issues in Islam. Furthermore, guest speakers that have expertise in a certain area will also be making presentations. Our goal is to introduce you to a wide variety of topics that will relate to the past, present and future.

The study of the Holy Quran
  • Correct Recitation
  • Last 15 chapters: memorized with translation
  • Surah Al-Baqarah (first 10 verses - memorized with translation)
  • Complete understanding of salat.
  • Salat and other details (times).
  • Prayers held in congregations (what and where).
  • The life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh): migration to the demise.
  • The Holy Prophet's (saw) companions
  • Life of the Promised Messiah (as)
  • The Promised Messiah's (as) companions
  • Books of the Promised Messiah (as)
  • Khalifat system [The Holy Prophet (saw) and the Promised Messiah (as)]
  • The Islamic Calendar
  • Other religions and their teachings (brief analysis)
  • Sects in Islam. What are the similarities and differences? Also, Ahmadiyyat and its comparison to other sects.
  • Ahmadiyyat and its roots in Qadian and Rabwah.
  • In-depth analysis on the five pillars of Islam and six articles of faith.
  • Prayers from the Holy Quran.
  • Prayers of the Holy Prophet (saw).
  • 40 Ahadith from "The Book of 40 Gems"
  • Nazm from Durr-e-Samin
  • Qaseeda
  • Nazms from Kalam-e-Mahmood

*An absence must be due to a legitimate reason. 10% of your final mark will count towards attendance.
  • If you know in advance that you will be away, let your teacher know and get any work you will miss.
  • If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to catch up on missed work.
  • If you miss a test or quiz, you will write the quiz or test on the day of return during lunch.
  • 3 ring binder
  • Lined paper, pen, pencil, ruler
  • Books on religious knowledge
  • You must be on time.
  • You must respect others. Any behaviour that will disrupt the learning of others will result in a phone call to parents.
  • Use your time effectively and efficiently.
  • You must get permission to leave the classroom.
  • Any disruption or disregard for others, rules and object will result in a phone call to parents.
