Canadian Muslims Commemorate International Women’s Day
 
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at celebrates women as leaders

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada honours women and celebrates their role in society, at work and in family. Women of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at are empowered, educated, confident, humble and honest members of society. 
 
“As Ahmadi Muslim women, we celebrate International Women’s Day today but also every day of our lives,” said Mrs. Amtul Noor Daud, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association. “We celebrate our privileged status because we truly believe that Islam, more than 1400 years ago, established the rights and freedoms for women which were previously unimaginable.”
 
The holy founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him), established countless rights for women including spiritual equality, the right to seek an education, the right to inherit property and the right to vote – many of which were only granted to women of the modern world after the 1920s.
