Canadian Muslim Community Mobilizes to Aid Fort McMurray Wildfire Evacuees

 

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at holds special prayer for all those suffering from the wildfire crisis in Fort McMurray, Alberta

 

 

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada extends its heartfelt sympathies for those affected by the wildfire in Fort McMurray and is organizing special prayers across Canada.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at is working with the authorities in Edmonton and has mobilized its members in an effort to provide shelter, food and hygiene necessities for those who have been evacuated from Fort McMurray. The mosque of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at in Edmonton, as well as residences of its members, are being made available for evacuees.

“This is a very tough time for our friends and family in Fort McMurray and we offer our sincerest prayers and sympathies to those affected by the wildfire,” said Mr. Lal Khan Malik, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada. “We are committed to working with the authorities and providing all the support necessary to aid those suffering in this tragedy.”

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at values the hard work done by firefighters in extreme weather conditions. In accordance with Islamic traditions, all mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at throughout Canada will offer special outdoor prayers for rain in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
