Canadian Muslim Community Shocked and Saddened by Egyptian Coptic Church Attacks

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at mourns the loss of innocent lives in Egypt

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada condemns the attack that took place on two Egyptian coptic churches on Sunday. It has been reported that this gruesome act of terror purportedly killed 43 people and injured numerous more. Islam forbids all forms of terror and extremism. The founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), placed a strong emphasis on especially protecting places of worship. The Holy Qur’an specifically teaches that Muslims must defend and protect all places of worship.

“It truly grieves us to hear of another senseless attack on innocent people. We are praying for the rapid recovery of the wounded,” says National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada, Mr. Lal Khan Malik. “We condemn this heinous act and offer our sincerest sympathies to the victims and their families.”

“All forms of terror and extremism are completely against the true teachings of Islam,” said Mr. Lal Khan Malik, “The Holy Qur’an says to kill even one innocent person is akin to killing all of humanity.”

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada offers its deepest condolences to those affected by this tragedy and prays for solace and fortitude for all those left bereaved or affected by this tragedy in any way.
