Canadian Muslim Community Mourns the Hajj Pilgrimage Tragedy in Mecca

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada offers special prayers during Eid in its chapters across the country

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada have been left deeply shocked and grieved to hear of today’s tragic stampede in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where hundreds of worshippers lost their lives and many others were injured. We offer our sincerest condolences and sympathies to all those who have been affected by this devastating tragedy and pray that may God Almighty grant a full recovery to all of those who have been injured.

While Canadian Muslims mark the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (Islamic Festival of Sacrifice), the news of today’s tragedy in Mecca certainly made it a somber affair.

During his sermon to a gathering of thousands of Muslims, the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada – Lal Khan Malik – said:

“We continuously pray for all the pilgrims who lost their lives during this devastating tragedy and the martyrs remain in our thoughts and prayers. We pray that may God Almighty give solace and fortitude to the families left bereaved and grant a full recovery to those who have suffered injuries.”
