The 37th Annual Convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada will take place on July 5, 6, & 7, 2013 at the International Centre, Mississauga, Ontario.
“The primary purpose of this Convention is that every sincere member of Jama`at may derive religious benefits and at the same time acquire more knowledge and advance in God realization." The Promised Messiah a.s.

Experience closer communion with the Maker and Creator during this blessed month.
In the Holy Quran, Allah says:
"O ye who believe ! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard against evil.
The prescribed fasting is for a fixed number of days, but whoso among you is sick or on a journey, shall fast the same number of other days; and for those who are able to fast only with great difficulty, is an expiation - the feeding of a poor man. And whoso does good of his own accord it is better for him. And fasting is good for you, if you only knew" (2:184-185)
The holy month of Ramadan started on July 21st. Muslims around the world have been fasting from dawn to dusk during this Holy Month.
Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has told us that,
"Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise the voice; or if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. By Him, in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah on the Day of judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his Lord he is glad with his fast."

By the Grace of Allah! Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) has arrived in Calgary on May 22, 2013. Dignitaries and government officials received Huzoor Anwar (aa) at the Airport. A large motorcade led by Police vehicles arrived at the Baitun Nur Mosque where a huge crowd was waiting to greet their beloved Huzoor (aa).
The atmosphere was filled with slogans and recitation of poems. Huzoor walked around amidst very happy members of Jama`at.
Huzoor Anwar (aa) then briefly met with ministers and other dignitaries. Then he led Maghrib and Isha`a prayers at the Baitun Nur Mosque that was packed with worshipers.
The Friday Sermon of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) was broadcast live on MTA from Masjid Baitun Nur on Friday May 24, 2013
After Namaz Jumua`, there was Ijtima`i Bai`at (Group Bai`at) which was also shown live on MTA

By the grace of Alllah, The Annual Convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Western Canada took place along with the Inauguration of Baitur Rahman Mosque, Vancouver, BC.
Thousands attended this historic convention where Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih V (May Allah be his helper) inaugurated Baitur Rahman mosque in the West End of the World.

The much anticipated Office of Religious Freedom was officially launched by Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at headquarters in Maple, Ontario. This important announcement attracted all the key government and non-governmental stakeholders.

The creation of the Office of Religious Freedom catapults Canada in to a position of leadership in promoting religious freedoms around the world. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at is proud to say that the establishment of this office follows the principals of religious freedom taught by Islam.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at has been a key partner of the Canadian government throughout the planning phase of this office. Foreign Minister John Baird had the privilege of visiting the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah be his helper) in London, UK last year to share his views and seek advice. His Holiness explained that Islam taught that every person should be free to practice his religion openly and without fear of discrimination.
