In the Holy Quran, Allah says:
"O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard against evil.
The prescribed fasting is for a fixed number of days, but whoso among you is sick or on a journey, shall fast the same number of other days; and for those who are able to fast only with great difficulty, is an expiation - the feeding of a poor man. And whoso does good of his own accord it is better for him. And fasting is good for you, if you only knew" (2:184-185)
During the holy month of Ramadan Muslims fast from dawn to dusk.
Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has told us that,
"Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise the voice; or if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. By Him, in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah on the Day of judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his Lord he is glad with his fast."

On 27th May Khilafat Day was celebrated across Canada at various local and regional centres where members of the community joined to praise Allah for the blessings of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya.
Allah had promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then who so is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious. (Surah Al-Nur, Verse 56)
The Khilafat Day is celebrated by holding the Jalsa in most Regional and Local Centers across Canada.

Hamilton and Edmonton residents attended an event to hear about the true and astonishing story of The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa). The event was held on March 31st in NAIT, Edmonton and on April 2nd in SJAM Auditorium, Hamilton.
The life of the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, was a life of grand success. In his high moral qualities, his spiritual power, his high resolve, the excellence and perfection of his teaching, his perfect example and the acceptance of his prayers, in short, in every aspect of his life, he exhibited such bright signs that even a person of low intelligence, provided he is not inspired by unreasonable rancour and enmity, is forced to confess that he was a perfect example of the manifestation of Divine qualities and was a perfect man.
(The Promised Messiah, Al-Hakam, 10th April, 1902, p. 5)
On Friday May 30th, 2014, Hazrat Khalīfatul-Masīh V (May Allah be His Helper!) instructed the Jamā‘at to continue reciting the prayers prescribed on the occasion of Centenary Khilāfat Jubilee.
Huzoor Anwar(aa) also instructed that a few additional prayers must also be made a part of our daily routine. Through these prayers we beseech Allah the Almighty to keep our fellow Ahmadīs brethren around the world safe from harm and ask that He grant Islam-Ahmadiyyat its victory.
